History
MSP Inc. was started by Lester Pitcher as Marion Screw Products in 1943 in the basement of his home in Marion, Indiana. The company began as a sub-contractor manufacturing tachometer adapters for aircraft engines. When World War II ended the company started manufacturing aircraft instrument bezels in addition to the tachometer adapters.
An employee of MSP purchased the business from the Pitcher family in 1973 and expanded the instrument clamp line. In 1979 the company moved to Nashville, Indiana. In 1980 MSP added a new product line and began manufacturing and selling instrument cases.
On June 1, 2002, MSP Aviation, Inc. purchased the assets of MSP, Inc. and moved the company to Bloomington, Indiana in August of 2002. Since 2002 the company increased sales by over 400%, doubled the size of the facilities, more than tripled its work force and acquired 3 new product lines in the past 2 years. |
