Governor Daniels Honors Monroe County Business, MSP Aviation Inc. With Award for Longevity
John Goode, President, MSP Aviation Inc. received the Half Century Award from Governor Mitch Daniels during a ceremony at the Statehouse November 14.
The governor presented MSP Aviation, Inc. with the award and Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman and Secretary of Commerce Nathan Feltman joined Daniels in honoring Indiana companies for their commitment to longevity in doing business in Indiana.
Earlier this year, the Bloomington Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) nominated MSP for their outstanding contribution to the economic growth and prosperity of Monroe County.
"We're very proud of MSP Aviation for their longevity and continued success as a Bloomington business," stated Ron Walker, President of the BEDC. "Once again, we're reminded that the Bloomington economy has a diverse mix of companies making products used throughout the world and it is particularly satisfying to see a local manufacturer providing project used by the world's major airlines."
MSP Aviation Inc. was started by Lester Pitcher as Marion Screw Products in Marion, Indiana. The company began as a sub-contractor manufacturing tachometer adapters for aircraft engines. When World War II ended the company started manufacturing aircraft instrument bezels in addition to the tachometer adapters.
